Alisjahbana Haliman, known as Ali, is the Founder of Talasi, a purpose-driven enterprise born from his first encounter with the raw beauty and deep poverty of Sumba in 2017. After years of working across Indonesia, Ali was moved to create lasting impact by empowering smallholders and communities at the source, starting with the land itself.
Talasi, meaning “ever-flourishing tree” in Sanskrit and “cornflower” in Native American culture, symbolizes Ali’s vision: to transform Indonesia’s natural resources into value-added products while regenerating livelihoods. Through Talasi’s brands Watu and Toye, he connects consumers to ethical, origin-based food and natural ingredient products that support grassroots empowerment and sustainability.
Operating in Sumba and Bali, Talasi invests in community education, tools, and infrastructure to build regenerative systems that respect both people and the planet, making every product a step toward meaningful change.
