Bond Between My Way

Taman Mumbul

Taman Mumbul is a peaceful holy spring and temple complex located in Sangeh, Badung Regency. Surrounded by towering trees and tranquil ponds, this sacred site is known for its natural spring pool used in melukat, the Balinese ritual of spiritual purification.

The name “Mumbul” comes from the Balinese word for “bubbling up,” referring to the natural freshwater springs that gently rise to the surface in the center of the pool. The water here is believed to hold cleansing and healing properties, and is often used in pre-cremation rituals, purification ceremonies, and spiritual offerings.

Visitors are welcome to take part in melukat under the guidance of a local priest, wearing traditional Balinese attire and bringing offerings such as canang, pejati, or tirta. The surrounding gardens and large banyan trees create a serene and sacred atmosphere, ideal for quiet reflection or prayer.

Still relatively unknown to mass tourism, Taman Mumbul offers an authentic and calming spiritual experience, a place where water, culture, and devotion meet in harmony.
